Experience - The Lucas Winery |
Short tours, with your personal host, are included as a part of your visit to The Lucas Winery. These visits begin in the vineyard with a review of winegrowing techniques that influence wine style and conclude in the Grand Chai. |
In-Depth Winemaker's Tours |
Our in-depth "Traditional Winemaking at The Lucas Winery" experience is private and intimate. Reservations are available to visitors by appointment only from 11 am to 3 pm Thursday thru Sunday. Your visit will be customized to your liking. Whether you are a knowledgeable wine person or just starting the wonderful journey with wine, you will find something fun and educational during your visit. The tour begins with an optional walk through the historic ZinStar vineyard located next to the winery. Visitors will then be shown through The Lucas Winery and Gran Chai. All tours culminate with a tasting experience at a private table in the Gran Chai barrel room where our food friendly wines are offered with appropriate food pairing This in-depth winery experience is $55 per person for up to 6 people and takes about one and a half hours to complete. |
The Essence of Wine |
A great gift. This is a two hour experience as you explore the sometimes mystical words used to describe wine aromas. The nose can identify via smell up to 1600 aromas. After this experience you will be able to swirl and sniff using this new knowledge to understand the aromas associated in red and white wines such as citrus, herbal, green bean, peachy, blue berries, oak, leather or coco. The tour also includes focus on the vineyard practices that influence wines aromas. Reservations in advance are required: $50 per person; limited to 10 guests and conducted by our wine tenders Heather or David. |
